During Jane’s number “Ain’t There Anyone Here For Love” in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, she was accidentally knocked off the edge of the pool by the diving Olympic team and landed in the pool. This was unscripted, but was kept for the final release. Also, her brother Jamie appeared in the same number as one of the muscle men.

Championed the passage of the Federal Orphan Adoption Amendment of 1953, which allowed children of American servicemen born overseas to be placed for adoption in the United States. Through her organization, World Adoption International Fund (WAIF), Russell has placed 51,000 children with adoptive families.

Her breasts are the namesake for ‘The Jane Russell Peaks’ in Alaska.

Bob Hope once introduced her as “the two and only Jane Russell.”

In 1955, Russell and Bob Waterfield formed Russ-Field Productions. Under this banner, they made Gentlemen Marry Brunettes (1955), _King and Four Queens, A (1956)_ , Run for the Sun (1956), and Fuzzy Pink Nightgown, The (1957).
